What are you hoping for? What have you set your belief on? Is it truly good news you can depend on?

There’s only one way to know that what we’re believing is true, and that is by the results! We reap what we sow. So what seeds are we planting? In Mark 4 Jesus uses a parable to explain how the good seed of the word of God grows in our hearts. The condition of our hearts is critical, and if the condition is good, the word of God will produce a good harvest automatically.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is definitely good news. By believing that Jesus died in our place, and was raised to life again, reuniting us to the Father in resurrection life – we now live by His Spirit in God’s kingdom, already made fully righteous and holy as Jesus is! If we have believed, Jesus has equipped us with all we need in our born-again spirits for the abundant life He promises. Our citizenship has changed, our old sinful nature is gone, and we are seated and reigning with Christ.

Our minds are renewed to our new position by the word of God, our faith grows like a muscle with increased use, and we are destined to live victorious, free, and abundant lives! If our lives don’t look like this, we are missing some truth.

If you’ve heard another gospel that demands you conform your behaviour, meet certain requirements, or do a lot of ‘navel gazing’ to please God, it’s not the gospel of grace. The gospel of grace is all about what Christ has done for us, not what we do for Him. His grace to us is loving and free. We don’t deserve it or earn it, we simply believe and receive.

And this is how we continue. We start in grace and continue in grace. From day one we are complete in Him, righteous, accepted and dearly loved.

Colossians 2:6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him.

The true gospel is such good news, it’s hard to keep it to oneself! Emmanuel continues writing with a testimony of God’s miraculous provision to spread the Word:

“I want you to know that Charis was very instrumental in the new ministry that we have opened here in Manila. We’ve been using discipleship materials from Andrew Wommack Ministries and have reached out to thousands face-to-face and online. The Lord also provided us with a space for free for training people in the Word.”

The gospel of Jesus Christ reflects the character of God – full of love and goodness. In Him is no deceit, no shadow, no hidden agenda – He does not change.

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” (James 1:17).

So, is your life victorious, free, and abundant? If you think you’re hearing God but it’s not leading to the fulness and freedom found in Christ, it’s likely another gospel.

The Apostle Paul was grieved that members of the Galatian church had so quickly departed from the gospel of grace and lost their freedom in Christ. Adding any work or performance to gain what Christ had already gained for them was “foolishness.”

We should be on guard. “Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14). His words may sound gentle and sweet but they appeal to reason and not to the Spirit. The world says many things are good for us but are they God’s way? Do they point to the joy and freedom in Christ or are they bringing us into bondage? Yet something else that we have to buy or follow, and eating up more of our time and thought?

Paul says think on these things: “…whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things” (Philippians 4:8).

Emmanuel concludes:

“The Lord has used Andrew and the Charis teachers and staff in bringing the fulness of the Gospel and God’s amazing grace in this part of the world!”

If we think we are believing one thing, but are getting different results, it’s time to change our thinking and believe the full gospel!
