Testimony of Caroline Yeager

Plagued with questions of whether she was saved or not and drifting through life feeling hollow inside, Caroline Yeager fell into despair. Having grown up in a cult-like church, Caroline learned at a young age to live by strict rules: no jeans, no short hairstyles, no going to the beach, no marrying outside the church, and much more.

Caroline felt the effects from the years of legalism when she miscarried twins and when her seemingly perfect sister died while giving childbirth. “The torment, anguish, and fear of not knowing if one of my children would get sick or die because of something I did wrong hung over my head at all times,” Caroline says.

After decades in bondage and feeling like a failure, Caroline found herself holding a rope one day and crying out to God, “I can’t take this anymore!” Thankfully, her desire to see the Lord in heaven kept her from taking any drastic measures. But what Caroline didn’t realize was that coming to the end of herself meant coming to the beginning of God. It was during a seemingly random visit with her brother—who had already left the legalistic church—that Caroline first heard of Andrew Wommack. Caroline recalls, “When I realized I could listen for free any time, God opened my eyes to the fact that I could seek Him. As a woman, I could seek and I could find for myself.”
